ABEOKUTA – A coalition of constituents under the aegis of the Ifo Lokan 2027 MHR Movement has formally kicked against the re-election bid of Hon. Ibrahim Isiaka, the lawmaker representing Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency, insisting that the seat must be zoned to Ifo Local Government Area in the 2027 general elections.

Leading hundreds of supporters to the All Progressives Congress (APC) secretariat in Abeokuta on Tuesday, the group submitted a petition to the party leadership, declaring that a fourth term for the incumbent would undermine the principles of fairness, equity, and justice.
Presenting the petition to Segun Bankole, the Administrative Secretary of the party (who received it on behalf of State Chairman Yemi Sanusi), the group’s spokesman, Hon. Femi Akala, argued that power rotation between the two local governments in the constituency has been lopsided.
“Since 1999, Ewekoro Local Government has held the seat for sixteen years through Hon. Bamidele Obadina (2007–2011) and Hon. Ibrahim Isiaka (2015–2027), while Ifo Local Government has represented the constituency for twelve years through Hon. Abayomi Collins (1999–2007) and Hon. Adekunle Adeyemi (2011–2015),” Akala stated.
The group emphasised that Ifo Local Government’s larger voter population, higher number of polling units, and consistent loyalty to the APC make it deserving of the ticket in 2027. They warned that failing to address the imbalance could threaten party unity.
Citing Article 20 of the APC Constitution, the movement maintained that their demand aligns with the party’s core values of inclusiveness and equitable distribution of opportunities.
“This is not a protest, but a voice of hope. Zoning the seat to Ifo will not diminish our partnership with Ewekoro; it will strengthen trust and reinforce long-term cohesion within the constituency,” Akala added.
The group congratulated the party leadership on their recent re-election and assured them of their continued loyalty, urging them to ensure that fairness guides the preparation for the 2027 elections.
