The Governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ogun State, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka on Thursday, warned that no attempt should be made by any individual or group to rig the forth- coming general elections “because any effort toward such would be fiercely resisted by the masses.”.
Isiaka who spoke in Abeokuta, emphasized that intelligent report available to him indicated that some people were plotting to manipulate the election and pleaded that those behind such plot should desist in the interest of peace.
His words: “Anyone that tries to manipulate the election will face the wrath of the law. We are aware that some opponents are planning to rig the election but that will be impossible. Tell them it will be impossible. If anybody tries to rig the election we will give them the force they want.”
Isiaka who spoke at the party campaign mega rally, assured that his party was ready to ensure that the election is free from manipulation.
The Party’s National Chairman, Chief Ralph Nwosu who was a special guest at the event said judging from the large attendance at the rally, he was convince that “Ogun State is 85 percent ready for Isiaka who is popularly known as GNI.
Isiaka in his speech told the crowd “Our objective is greater Ogun State. We will improve the economy, greater education system, provide health facilities. We will empower the youths and make them self-reliant. Beginning from 29th of May we are going to actualise all these potentials.”
“We shall ensure life abundant for our people , . We will make sure everything is done with a good heart because it is with a good heart that we can do these, ” he added.
At the ceremony, a group, that called themselves Hausa Community in Ifo Local Government defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the ADC. They were 50 in number.
